YouTube Expands AI Detection Tools for Content ID and Monetisation

New tools aim to improve detection of AI-generated content and protect creators' revenue from automated content farms.

YouTube has announced a significant expansion of its Content ID system to better identify AI-generated videos and music, targeting content farms that use automated tools to flood the platform with synthetic media.

The new detection capabilities use a combination of audio fingerprinting and visual AI analysis to flag content for human review. Channels found to be primarily publishing AI-generated content without substantial human creative contribution may face demonetisation or channel termination under the updated policies.
